This past Friday was the release party at True Love Art Gallery for Quake Rugby's 2014 calendar. Because they annually switch photographers and themes, I'd nagged a couple players earlier in the year about wanting to do it. The idea was scantily clad men in vintage female pinup poses, and a few people said it was one of their better calendars the team's put out. Besides some color shifts from page to page, I was really happy with the results, too, and it was fun having an excuse to get into the studio for a change of pace. Also, I guess they make a killing on these calendars, selling 700 or so each year at $15 a pop.
Had a really fun evening from there, with stops at 8 Oz. Burger, Lashes at R Place, and The Eagle. But the best part was getting in at 3 AM and freaking out after reading an email from the DNC about photographing a small, exclusive fundraiser with President Obama in a week. AH! Some sort of non-disclosure agreement will surely be involved, so if I'm mum in a week, there's that. But wow - will get to meet the President! You never know who's going to have an opportunity for you.
Oh, and also, a milestone - finally moved the computer into the Inscape Arts studio today!
